Your day begins with a comfortable drive from your accommodation in Fes. As you leave the city, you'll see the landscape change to rolling hills dotted with olive and wheat fields.

Highlights:

• Volubilis: Our first major stop is the impressive and well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once a thriving Roman provincial capital, you can now wander through its ancient streets, see the remains of grand villas with their stunning, intricate mosaics still intact, and marvel at the triumphal arch and the capitol building. Your guide will bring the history of this ancient city to life.
• Moulay Idriss Zerhoun: We'll then make a short stop to view the holy town of Moulay Idriss, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley. It is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Morocco and holds the tomb of Moulay Idriss I, the founder of the first Moroccan dynasty.
• Meknes: In the afternoon, we explore the grandeur of Meknes, the "Versailles of Morocco." Once the capital of Morocco under Sultan Moulay Ismail, this imperial city is filled with impressive monuments. We'll visit the monumental Bab Mansour, considered one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco, the vast Heri es-Souani (the royal granaries and stables), and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail himself.
